So we finally got to see the movie, this morning, thanks to our friends that watched the girls for us so we could go. Thanks again!
Well, I wasn't that disappointed not like I thought I'd be. I guess because I was preparing myself for the worst. I was upset however; that they changed a few things and added a few things.
I hate it when they change things from a book. Why they add or take away from it? It bugs me. How in the world are they going to have the second movie play out since a few key things were either presented in the wrong context or left out in this one. So while I wasn't that disappointed there were a few things I didn't like either. Josh didn't like it that much. He said they changed to much of the original story for him. But he felt that way about Eragon too. And he still wanted to buy it on DVD. He said as a movie it was ok but as a movie compared to the book he didn't like it.
Here is my breakdown of the characters:
Edward, He was ok.....I think he was to uptight though. And he didn't walk right, in the book he was graceful and his movements were fluid. I hope he improves in the movies to come. I still had a hard time watching him as Edward. He just didn't fit.
Bella, Well......she was all in all the right fit as far as hair and build to me. But something about her voice was off for me. I still liked her as Bella.
Carilise, Ummmm something about him just didn't fit that character for me.
Esme, I liked who played her but I don't know if it was the right fit for the character.
Alice, LOVED her!
Jasper, he looked like he was on drugs the whole time. And they didn't mention his ability at all in the movie, I think they could have done better at casting this roll.
Rosalie, She was just as witchie in the movie as she is in the book. I think she fit the part.
Emmett, not big or tall enough.
Charlie, it took me a while but I finally did like him.
Billy Black, PERFECT!
Jacob Black, Ok he was my favorite character throughout the books. I know, I know, I didn't fall for the vampire. I like the underdogs what can I say. But I hope somehow they make him bigger as far as body build because that will spoil the other movies for me. I think out of all the people cast for the movie that Jacob was the one that fit the best to me.
There is so much more I want to say about it but I don't want to spoil it for those that haven't seen it or read the books.
