Day 1

We dropped Chief off this morning at the terminal. This makes #5 for deployments since we've been married. It never gets easier.

This one's going to be a lot harder and not because I have 3 kids one of them being an infant. It's that while I want the months to go by quickly I don't want them to. Monkey will be 14 months old by the time Chief gets back. I get upset just thinking about it. Monkey will be walking and probably won't even remember his daddy. Even with phone calls, and video chats.

I know I will be busy enough with school and all the daily things that go a long with taking care of a house and children.

Thankfully this should be the last one for a while since Chief rotates to shore duty after he comes home. We all need a break! It's been a ruff 3 yrs with him being away for 13 months then deploying again less than a year after that and again after only 8 months from returning from a 6 month deployment.

I can do it!

"Just keep swimming."

USS Enterprise

We got a special surprise this week.
Chief's aircraft carrier pulled into port at one of the bases close to us.
Not only did we get to spend the afternoon with him but he took us on a tour of the carrier.
The Enterprise is the oldest carrier in the fleet and will be decommisioned in January of 2013.

The girls really enjoyed seeing where daddy works when he goes away to "the boat."
He showed them his rack {bed}, the Cheif's mess where he eats and of course the flight deck where all the action takes place.
It was my first time EVER on a carrier.
It was also my first EVER in 11 yrs of being a military wife
getting to pick up my sailor at the pier.

Welcome Home!

Due to OPSEC I couldn't post anything about when this would happen, but our Cheif is HOME!!!!

He came in a few days ago. He was selected as senior enlisted person to come back for the early det. It's a small crew to get the squadron ready for the rest of the commands homecoming.

We can't say how HAPPY we are for him to be home. He's  had the last few days off and it's been so great having him home.

We've been doing things likes going to the movies and to the pool.

He made it home for our 11 year anniversary on Friday. We hired a babysitter for the first time ever and went to out for a fancy dinner. It was so nice!

Both of us will be getting ready for homecoming over the next few weeks, I've been planning homecoming since the FRG will be doing all the preparations.
