Preschool Grad!

Our Preschool Grad! Can't believe my baby girl is starting Kindergarten in the fall. It seems like it was yesterday she was toddling around the house after her big sister.

She's looking forward to going to school with her big sister and making new friends.

Early Release

Every other Weds school gets out early, about an hour and 30 minutes. This is the first one since school started. I did send Sugar to school this morning. She was insisting she was still to sick to go. But after she was cheering in the LR last night, yelling so loud I figured she was well enough to go to school.

She's been doing much better when I leave her at school. I am very thankful for that. It's hard to leave them when they are screaming.

We have some errands to run after we pick her up. I'm not sure what day but DH will be home this week. I'm waiting to hear from him as what ships movement is and when they expect an airlift back here.

First Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe my baby is in big kid school.

She was not happy this morning.

She kept begging to stay home.

She did pretty good when I dropped her off.

I hope she has a great day!

Dr Suess Day

Today was Dr Suess day at Sugars school.

She wanted to be Horton from "Horton Hear's A Who."

Thank goodness DH was home over the weekend cause he's really creative.

We went to get some felt on Monday.

He then drew out a template for the ears on some cardboard.

Cut them out, put some batting in and sewed them up.

Yes he sewed the ears himself.

I was left to make the trunk and attach the ears.

She was so EXCITED!

Her teachers thought she looked so cute.

And were surprised we made it ourselves.

Sugar's school pictures came in last week.

I was hoping for a class picture but they did individuals.

They were expensive but I had to get a few.

What she did this week........

Avery was very upset when we dropped

big sister off and she couldn't stay.

That is probably why I didn't cry I was to busy trying to get

my screaming toddler out the door.

Aynslee reported that she loved school and can't wait to go back.

Daddy was able to call home tonight to talk to her.

That made her big day even better!

getting ready for school

Yesterday Aynslee had to go take a little test at school. They like to see where they are and get a sense if they are shy or outgoing because they pair them with the opposite personality to help each other out. Avery and I had to wait in the office. When they came back Aynslee was so excited. The teacher that did the test was very impressed with the writing skills and everything else they went over. I guess she aced the little test. Since she is super outgoing she will be paired up with child that is shy.

Friday is Open House were we get to meet her teacher. Monday is the 1st day of school. I thought I was ready for it but as it gets closer I'm not looking forward to it. I know she will do great and the break from home will do her good. But from here on out every year we'll be starting school, no more vacations in the fall or winter. Or having a pajama day just cause we want to. It's going to be a big adjustment for us especially me.

Avery really wants to go to school too but I can't see spending $140. + a week for her to attend at 2. I don't think at 2 she really needs to be in preschool. I plan on spending some quality one on one time with her going to storytime during the week and other fun things. It will be good for her and me.
