On with the games.....

It's been an interesting few days around here. We spent Sunday looking for things for "the games." He left this morning at 4:30 am. We will not see him again until tomorrow at the pinning ceremony. He wasn't all that thrilled about this part of the process and is ready to be done. His parents drove in to be with us tomorrow. His dad and I will be pinning his anchors on him. I'll post pictures as soon as I can sit down to do so. We're going to be busy for the next several days. We plan on doing some fun things with Gran and Papa while they are here.

Long weekend....

Sugar was very excited last night and proclaimed, " I don't have school tomorrow." She asked me all week if she could stay up and watch House Hunters with me. Finally she got to stay up and watch it last night. Really, how many 5 yr olds like that show. I only know of one and it's my child.

We are excited for an extra day off from school on Monday. Not really sure what we will do, maybe the pool.

We've been looking forward to this week for the last 5 weeks. Our Chief Select will be coming home sometime this week. I headed over to the Nex on Weds to pick the girls up their daddy shirts. They say, "Ask my dad, He's the Chief." Both in pink. I'm really excited for them to wear them when we pick him up at the terminal.

The last 5 weeks have been a challenge for us. The girls are a lot more aware of him being away. It has affected them in different ways. Sugar has become really clingy while Spice repeatedly asks when he will be home. Spice has even had moments where she will cry for him.

Even though he will be home soon it's still going to be a challenge for us, since he will still be participating in induction until the pinning ceramony. We've had a few talks about how daddy will be really busy once he gets home but that it will only be for a little while. I plan on keeping them busy those few days. Gran and Papa's visit should keep them distracted enough that they won't notice is absence that much. {at least that's what I'm hoping for anyway}

I have some things to work on before we can get out for the day. Hope everyone has a safe weekend.

Single Parent

DH left for the boat for the next 6 weeks. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal afterall he was away from home for a year and I did just fine. I just hate being alone all the time. Even if he works 12 + hours a day when he's home at least he comes home and we can spend a little time together at night. Now we have to rely on unreliable email service for communication.

Hearing my baby cry for her daddy to come home is heartbreaking. Spice has the hardest time when he leaves. Funny that she's younger and is more affect. You'd think it'd be the older child that would do this. Sugar is just so laid back as long as she has one of us around she's fine.

To add insult to injury we are homebound for the next 2 weeks, because of the dogs surgery we have to cut back on everything this month. IT's going to stink big time.
