As much as I love Disney World, I am really glad to be home. I feel like I could sleep for 2 days straight.
I'll start with our accommodations, I was pleasantly surprised by the All Star Resorts rooms. They were a lot nicer than I had heard. I would compare it to The Hampton Inn. The staff there was great, always pleasant. We had a cafeteria on site which had lots of different things to pick from, breakfast, lunch and dinner options. I will say that they only way to do a Disney vacation is to stay on site and purchase the dining plan. It was fabulous. I only bought 2 extra meals the entire week for Avery since she's under 2 the dining plan didn't include her. She was able to eat off of our plates at the buffets which was also very nice.
Our first night we ate at Cap May's at the Beach Club Resort it was a buffet and the food did not disappoint. There was great salad bar, lots of seafood, two different kinds of soups along with chicken and roast. The desserts were beyond words ya'll know how I love my sweets! They had this oreo bon bon it was sinfully delicious along with a key lime tart. YUM O!!!!!
Tuesday morning we dined at the Ohana at the Polynesian resort for a family style character breakfast. The kids got to meet Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto.
Tuesday night we headed back to the Polynesian for a Luau where the food again was family style, with a starter of pineapple bread and a salad with a poppy seed vinaigrette. The main course consisted of chicken, ribs, rice and steamed veggies. Our server there was great and the show was really good.
Wednesday was our night at the Cinderella dinner so everyone else just got what they wanted.
Thursday night we ate at Trails End in Fort Wilderness, it was a little time consuming to get there. We had to take a bus to the Wilderness Lodge then walk a mile or more around the resort to a boat dock take a small ferry to Fort Wilderness. This was probably my least favorite place to eat. It consisted of a salad bar, fried chicken, ribs, pasta, mac and cheese, pizza and some vegetables. The thing I liked the most was the potato casserole and the Mr Pibb. Most of the sodas there are coke products and they don't have Dr. Pepper or Mr Pibb. That was the highlight of my dinner that night.
Friday night we ventured off resort and ate at Outback Steakhouse which was a circus. It took us an hour for our table that was with call ahead seating but it was a party of 13 so that's probably why the wait was so long. Once we sat down at our table we were there for an hour and a half, it's really hard keeping Avery at a table for that long so we had a few meltdowns from her plus she got sick at the table and cleared Uncle Luke and Logan out.
I am really thankful to my in laws for taking us on this vacation. It was a great week for us. It helped the girls keep there minds off of missing there daddy because they were so busy. They love all their cousins and really enjoyed getting to spend time with them. Aynslee wanted Patrick and Piper to come home with her.
