It's a dogs life..........

Rory and her new bed.

ribbit, ribbit

This is the second dress I made for Aynslee. I had a 50% off coupon for the fabric so I got a great deal on it. Plus was able to get extra to make one for one of our friends daughters for her birthday.

I love this fabric. Pink and green together is one of my favorite color combos.

baby legs

This is my attempt at the ever so popular baby legs.
I came into this trend a little late
Knit Purl Mama was nice enough to find this pattern for me
Once I taught myself how to use double pointed needles,
it was an easy an fast project.

I know it looks like she likes them in this picture.
However; when I put them on her cute little legs,
she tells me to take them off.
Aynslee likes them and she can wear them as leg warmers
with a skirt or a dress.
I have currently made 2 pair, the ones pictured
and a pink pair.
I am working a on a black and white pair now.

Projects

I finished this about a week ago. But I am just now getting the pictures on here,
it was done in one afternoon.
Avery loves it.
She will go to her crib and ask for "Elmo and Zoey."
I really like the pillowcase.
It was supper easy.
I am in the process of working on Aynslee's now.
She insisted she have one after seeing Avery's.
I found some fabric yesterday at Wal-Mart.
Wal-Mart will no longer be selling fabric so everything was 50% off.
I got a lot of pieces but after I sat down and finished the top part of the blanket,
I realized I didn't have enough for the back and I need to add another 2 rows to the sides
so that it is long/wide enough for Aynslee to grow into.
Avery's is about the size of a crib set quilt but it's perfect for her.
I'll post pictures of Aynslee's when I am done with it.

geting organized

Ok, this is bad.
I know but this is what my pantry looks like.
I clean it out and before I know it's back to this terrible mess.
So, I decided enough was enough.
I need to be able to see what I have so I know what I need,
every week when I make out my grocery list.
That is the before picture.
And this is...........

the after.....
A major improvement.
Now I know what I have or what I need when shopping.
Josh opened the door and said,
"I am in the wrong house, this isn't my pantry."
Hopefully this will last for a long time,
I am trying to get organized so things are easier around here.
Less mess should equal less cautious, Right?

curtains

We took down the closet doors in the girls room.
Mainly because they played with them and this
particular day Avery repeated got her fingers pinched in them.
But refused to stopped playing with them.
So out they came.
This was my first attempt ever to make curtains.
I decided on tab top because it seemed like the easiest.
I did ok.
Now that I have them finished I am going to be working on more sewing projects.
I love the material we picked out.
It's a Sesame street alphabet with Zoe and Elmo on it.
I plan on making regular panal curtains for their windows with it.
Once Cassie gets back from her trip though,
She's made curtains before so I need a little supervison.
Then matching comfortors for their beds, probably a patch work quilt type with ties.
I will even attempt some pillow cases in matching fabric.
Once I get every thing done I'll post pictures of it all.

Upper Case Living Vinyl

It's only been a 10 months since I ordered this.
I finally got it up on the wall.
My intentions were to put it on a piece of wood so that
when we moved we could take it with us.
But since it looks like we will be in the house a while longer,
I decided to go ahead and put it up.
I LOVE IT!!

painting...............

So I have been trying to get some projects done around the house this week, the piano sold. And I have been slowing getting the LR painted. We've only been here 2 and a half years. It's different when you move with an infant things don't get unpacked or done right away. At least I didn't seem to be able to accomplish that.

I painted the arch in the cut out at the kitchen sink and the half wall in the kitchen and the wall were the piano was against on Sat. On weds I got the paint stuff back out and painted around the front door, over the alcove and the little walls that go into the alcove. I am still trying to decide if I want to paint an accent wall behind the TV. I can't make up my mind about a color. I want something bold and warm since everything else is so neutral in the house. I have the longer wall to paint yet and one small wall. But I am going to need more paint. After the LR is finished we have a few more spots in the hallway that need to be finished and we'll be done with that. Next to paint is the guestroom, master bedroom and bath. I still don't know exactly what I am doing in my room or bathroom.

We are also going to repaint the kitchen. The space is to open and the color we picked isn't working in that room. I want something neurtral so when it's spring and I want a nice spring table cloth on my table it doesn't matter what color it is. That's the thing about an eat in kitchen, we have no dining room so I am not able to decorate things like I'd like. I like the spaces seperate.

Nothing else that exciting going on, it's hot. We are watching the little girl from accross the street for a few weeks to help out until she goes to her grandma's for the rest of the summer.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
