3 weeks to go!
I had a check up yesterday. Gained 1 lb in 2 weeks, BP was great. The midwife thinks this will be a good size baby but not a huge baby. I go on Friday for an Ultrasound to check for size. Really not sure why I don't think it will be accurate. I'm being a good patient though. Baby is very low that's the reason I've been feeling so much pressure. I'm dilated 1 cm.
So now we play the waiting game and start taking bets on when this baby will decide to come. Chief thinks that it might be this weekend. The midwife doesn't think I'll make it to 39 weeks.

35 weeks/check up
Yesterday I went in for my 4 week check up. I didn't write down the exact number on the scale last time I went but the midwife told me total for their records in weight gain was 6 lbs at this point. They are using my weight from my 12 week visit in which I had already gained 10 lbs so that's a total of 16 lbs with only 5 more weeks to go. I can stop monitoring my sugars. I do not have late onset gestational diabeties.
Chief was able to go with me. She did an US to check for position and baby is head down. Whew!
We have everything ready except for the room. Just waiting on whether it will be pink or blue. Plus we have to clean the room out and declutter the closet to be able to set it up as a nursery. Maybe something we can do while he's on leave in a few weeks.
We're all ready to meet this baby. The girls get more excited especially Sugar. She is going to a great big sister and help. Spice is excited but has moments of uncertainty. I think it will be the hardest on her so we have been talking about how to make sure she isn't left out.

26 weeks/check up
This week I had my monthly check up. I switched to a new midwife. After all the mixup with my test results and the hard time she was giving me about gaining/not gaining weight I decided it was in my best interest to see someone else. I'd actually seen her before for something else a while ago.
She's really nice and I'm really HAPPY with the change.
I figured out that they are not using my prepregnancy weight they are going off my weight from my 12 week appointment. Which means that by their records I've only gained roughly 4 lbs, with 13 weeks left I shouldn't hear a lot from them about weight unless I go in and have gained a lot in one month. {which I don't plan on doing}
Baby sounded good, I'm assuming measured good too. She didn't use the measuring tape she move the baby around a bit. She mentioned I was measuring right where I should be.
You'd think with minimal weight gain I wouldn't be having a lot of pregnancy related symptoms. Wrong! All my weight is in the front so my back and hips hurt if I'm up moving around a lot.
We are on the downhill run now with waiting for baby and Chief's homecoming. We're all pretty excited.

opps
I didn't mean to laps so long in posting. Things have been busy.
I had my check up last week at 21 weeks. No weight gain, lost 3-4lbs. Um I got fussed at for that one. Honestly don't know how it happened. I eat and sometimes it's not always good. However for the most part it is good so maybe that's the issue. I'm eating more fruits, veggies, lean meats and whole grains.
Even with the weight loss baby measured 23 weeks so 2 weeks ahead. Doesn't mean a lot right now but still comforting for me especially with the weight loss.
I went on Friday for a glucose test. The midwife wanted to have it check due to me being "borderline obese." Yeah it changed from "obese" to "border line obese." Anyway, I failed the 1 hr. Going back on Weds for the 3 hr and really hoping I pass. According to my midwife if I fail it's not gestational diebeties it's a precurser to prediabties before pregnancy. Kinda find it hard to believing having been following a diabetic diet for the last 2 months with no excessive weight gain.
Really wasn't what I needed to hear that day. Seeing how some drama started with the FRG I'm in charge of for Chief's command that day. However we've managed through it and hoping that with the changes that were made we can proceed fairly smoothly from here on out.
I've been knitting! Pictures to come soon.

Nutrition check up
This morning I had to go in for a follow up with the dietitian.
Good news, in 4 weeks I gained .05 oz.
Even though I'm not sticking to the diet 100% I'm doing pretty good. I'm still a little confused on how she wants me to combine the foods. And her food idea's are sometimes different than my idea of good for you food.
I still struggle with the snacks. I'm not a big snacker. Add in that I have to put fruit with protein and or carbs with protein and sometimes I get overwhelmed and don't bother.
Overall I'm trying to pay more attention to eating more fruits and veggies. I prefer raw over cooked. {which is better anyway}
I'm really encouraged that in the next 22 weeks I can keep my weight gain moderate. We have started going to the gym. I'm working with a training on things that are appropriate for me to be doing.

17 weeks and check up
I had my OB check up this week. I only gained .06 lbs according to their scale, that is in 5 weeks. The babies heartbeat was 146. I'm perplexed as to why this midwife doesn't measure me at each visit. Maybe she doesn't do that until a certain time but I do find it odd. This is the first time I've seen a midwife from the start, with my other pregnancies I went to Family Practice.
She's scheduling the ultrasound. This is the big when where they check everything and most people find out the sex. I'm still uncertain about this. Chief doesn't want to find out. We didn't know with Sugar and found out with Spice. As soon as we found out with Spice I wished we hadn't. There's just something about not finding out and when the baby is born they announce, "It's a ????" Chief said if I wanted to find out I could but that I had to tell him cause he can't stand me knowing and he not. He made a very good point that if the baby is a boy we have enough clothes to get by with from Sugar. Since we didn't know with her we have a decent amount of neutral clothing in 0-3 months and if it's a girl I have plenty leftover from both girls we don't need anything from 0-3 months. That's about all I saved that will work this time if it's a girl. Sugar was born in June and Spice in February so I have a good mixture of summer and winter clothes in that size.
The other issue I'm having is a name. We don't tell our name until the baby is born. We've had a boy name picked since Spice and that is the name we will use. But a girl name is another story. We can't agree and it's very frustrating. All of the names I love he hates and vice versa. Spice has picked a name that we both sorta like and it starts with an A which is a requirement. I want a girl name picked before the baby is born so if it is a girl there isn't any discussion. That's what we did with Sugar and it was much easier. Spice was a different story we knew she was going to be a girl but we didn't pick anything out until after she was born. We went for months trying to decide and couldn't.
So here are some of my picks.....
Adeline {Papa's greatgrandmothers name}
Annalise
Adah
Arden
Alyce
The other requirement has to be the meaning. Chief is very picky. It has to have meaningful meaning according to him. It can't be like "a combination of ...." Also one of the names has to be a family name either first or middle name. This is also a challenge cause the initials can't match between the kids.
My middle name choices are......
Claire {after my father's mother}
Josephine {after my daddy}
Catherine {after my mother's mother}
Joshalynn {after Chief}
he hates the way this is spelled but I think it's cool cause it's a combo of his name and my name.
Sugar is named after Chief's grandmother on his dad's side and they have the same initials. Spice is named after me. Since this might be our last baby {we are still undecided} if it's a girl I'd like to have her named after one of my relatives. Also something special about using my fathers mother's name would be I was the only grandchild she ever met or held. So it'd be nice for me to be able name a little girl after her. I do have very vague memories of her. She passed away when I was 3 and was the only grandparent living when I was born and so she was the only one I ever met.
We have 5 more months to decide. Hopefully we will come up with something by then.
