devastation

That is what we are feeling in our house today. I am still to shell shocked to post anything about it all. Hopefully I can put my thoughts together enough to post about this.

Update.......

I read this off someone else's blog that voted for Obama it was in her comments box:

"I hope you still love him when your taxes and energy prices soar through the roof. And when he begins to take away your free speech rights. And gives your hard earned cash to those that don’t bother to get up off their asses and go to work.Oh, and thanks for the big middle finger to those of us that have sacrificed for your freedom by serving in the military. Don’t ever again try to tell me you support the troops. Because that will be a big fat lie.And it sickens me that my children will all remember the day that America voted for a man based on his skin color and not his character.America as we all knew it died last night because of people like you. Now we get to be Europe west. Yippee!!! Or in the words of Barack’s friend and spiritual mentor Jeremiah Wright, God @%*& America. Indeed"

And this:

"I can’t get Bill Ayers, Reverend Wright and more importantly, his deep association with Raila Odinga out of my mind…."

I also wanted to add that Carrie over @ Mommy Sunshine had a wonderful post up today.

And the reason why I put these comments up on my own blog is because these women said what I have been thinking all day.

Did you vote today?

We did!!!
I found these shirts for the girls at my favorite store. TCP
Luckily it was cool enough to wear them when we headed off to vote this morning.
Josh voted on Sat since he didn't think he'd be able to
before work today.
Actually there were no long lines at our polling place.
We walked right in and voted.
I hope it was a pleasant experience for all of you.

Read This

I found this while surfing some blogs this morning. I was very undecided on who I was going to vote for and when we sat down and watched one of the debates I just felt like Romney didn't do well. Then I was leary of him because he flipped on the pro-choice/pro-life and the hole gay rights thing I just don't agree with. But in the end I decided that out of all the canidates he was the best choice. I didn't have to like some of his ideas. And I didn't vote for him because he and I share the same religious affiliation.

I am upset over the reasons why Mitt Romney left the race. In fact in enrages me to see people attack him probably more because of where he goes to church than anything else. And the worst of it all is coming from someone who is suppose to be a man of God, I think Mike Huckabee needs to ask himself, What Would Jesus Do?

politics.......

This is a topic I rarly discuss because it's such a debated issue. But last night we watched the Republican debate on CNN, I have been confused as to who I should give my vote to. After watching the debates last night I am a lot more clear on who I won't be giving my vote too.

I want to say that I was incredibably ashamed to watch Mitt Romney last night. He was evasive on some of his answers. He stumbled a lot. I can not believe that he was pro choice and would like to see gays serving in the military openly. Both of those issues go againsts some of the core Republican beliefs. Not only that but he is a member of the LDS church, as am I, those topics, pro choice, our church is strongly for pro life, and condons any homosexual acts. I was shocked to see his stance on those issues even though he said he his pro life now he was not in the past. That came from his own lips.

My main reason for even blogging about this is because I feel that we shouldn't vote for someone just because of their religious affilation, whether we agree with it or not. I feel that a lot of LDS members will vote for Romney because he is a member of their faith. I have struggled with this since finding out that Romeny was running for President. I felt like since he was LDS that was were my vote should go. However, it doesn't mean he is the right person for the job. As I now see that from watching the debates last nights.

I feel that we aren't going to agree with a canidate 100% on all his policies but we should vote for the one that we agree with 90% of the time.

And I wanted to just say that was not impressed with, Ron Paul. His ideas about the war are wrong. I think he's blowing a lot of smoke and just telling people what they want to hear.

Or Rudy Gulliani, I liked some of what he had to say but he won't get my vote.

John McCain has the best background when it comes to our military and leading them to victory.

I was extremely impressed with Mike Huckabee.

I also like Fred Thompson.

Right now I am not sure who I am voting for but I do know that I won't be voting for someone because of where they go to church. I'll vote for the person that I feel has the right ideas on getting this country back on it's feet.

My main concerns are, imigration, the war on terror, social security, my rights to bear arms, and taxes. While some of the other things are important these are the things I am going to look for as to whos policies I agree with on these issues.

How about you?
